June 2013. Four days at Steve Powell's Track Studios on Roscoe Street, a hot one, the first time we put the band in a studio together. What came out of it was the Artorius Revisited EP, released that October - Michael Head & the Red Elastic Band, committed to tape for the first time.
I must've taken hundreds of photographs across those four days. These three have never been shared previously. They are not the posed frames or the clean ones. They are Michael Head between takes, singing and playing to no one in particular, half-rehearsing before it was rolling - the songs caught in the moment just before they became the record. Abstracts, really.
